Atis Andersons is a pianist and composer who has begun his jazz music studies at Riga Dome Choir School, later got a BA degree at London College of Music (University of West London) with a Mona Blackman prize (2014). After London studies he has returned to Riga to get a MA degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy. Had a chance to learn from Rob van Bavel at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Bob Wijnen.
Atis Andersons often performs in Latvia and abroad, and has performed together with Seamus Blake, Rick Margitza, Robert Anchipolovsky, Eran har Even, Beppe di Benedetto, Jason Hunter, Gianni Gagliardi, Villu Veski, Liudas Mockunas, Jan Maksimovich and the others.
The solo piano concert will feature Atis’ original compositions and Kenny Wheeler’s music.
