Distances is an instrumental jazz quartet actively performing in Germany and Italy, playing modern melodic jazz with an expressive saxophone, dynamic piano and pulsating rhythm section, focussing on a collective improvisation. Various geographical origins help its members to quickly overcome geographic and musical boundaries, creating a homogenous European jazz sound.

Line-up: Marco Ponchiroli (composer, piano player), Jan Grinbert (saxophone player), Georg Kolb (bass, lecturer, composer for many German movies), Nevyan Lenkov (drums player).
